Virginia Scarff
Virginia Scarff is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and medical scientist. She holds Bachelor degrees in both Chinese Medicine and Medical Laboratory Science, and in 2009 was awarded Bachelor of Health Science Honors (1st Class) by research. Her research topic was ‘The Prevalence of Complementary Therapy Use by Patients Attending Emergency Departments in Hospital’.
Virginia uses her knowledge of western and Chinese medicine fields to provide comprehensive and integrative health care to her patients. Her main practice is in women’s health, especially in the areas of infertility (female and male), IVF support, reproductive health and pregnancy care. Her previous work in diagnostic gynaecology has proved to be an invaluable aid to her current clinical practice. She also has a special interest in pain management, cancer support and general health care and improving general well being. Virginia was also involved in developing a support group for young adults with diabetes known as Reality Check in the late 1990's, and has been involved in diabetes support on many levels. She helps type 1 and 2 diabetic patients to optimise glycaemic control and to improve their overall health picture.
